Corona virus would not have spread the way it is spreading in Nepal; If and only If.......

The  pandemic case of Corona virus was first observed at Wuhan,China on the first week of January. During the time it was not considered fatal or dreadful. But as people started losing their lives because of the virus, there was implementation of lockdown.  It was not so much of a major concern for other countries then. However the spread of the virus was increasing day by day.

But as soon as virus infected people started travelling from China to other parts of the world the situation was out of control. Scientists from all over the world started the study of the virus. Yet no vaccine is developed yet. Though some of the vaccines are ready for clinical trials.

When a disease has no medicine  either your immune system has to be stronger or death is the only option!!!

Concerning Nepal,Nepal is a smaller country with lesser population in comparison to other countries. Corona virus would have easily  come under control and its spread would have easily been prevented;

If and only if:

all the ports and borders were completely sealed under strict supervision:

Everyone is aware of the open border system between Nepal and India. There is no need of passport or visa to come to and fro between these neighbouring countries. However as soon as Corona virus hit India a lot of Nepalese workers were unemployed and they wished to come back to Nepal. In the same way there were Indian workers here in Nepal. If and only if Nepalese government would have completely blocked the transit between the countries! If and only if Nepalese authorities would have negotiated with Indian authorities to command their citizens to stay safe and secure where they have been staying. The dreadful Corona virus pandemic would have easily been stopped. But unfortunately the truth is elsewise.😑😑

 If and only If:

Nepalese government provided required relief package to the helpless and the needy in time. Even though the municipalities and local ward offices provided the relief package; either it was very minimal or the package didn't ever reach the actual needy and the poor. So the poor people who were dependent on their daily wages for their expenses and living were forced to come out of their houses just to fill their stomach.  They developed such a mentality where they would either die of the hunger or they would die of the virus. Yet our guardian government was silent or maybe in a deeper sleep.😴😴😴

If and only if :

the transport from one province to another province could have been prohibited. Distribution of pass from the local authority to travel from one place to another is totally hideous. When  already the infection rates are high in the particular province it's not wise enough to allow people from that province to travel to other province where  lesser infection rates is seen.Even though they have so called Pass.

If  in case, there appeared an emergency case of a hospital patient or any other urgent cases, the use of helicopter would have been better where the risk of infection would be lesser. As road transport has to cross over a lot of transits and checkpoints and the officers there can be at high risk ;air transport would not have such issues.

 If and only if:

People would have been more careful to put on a mask and obey Corona virus preventive measures even though the 120 days of long lockdown was over. If and only if people were concerned of washing their hands from time to time.People started to rejoin the daily life routine as it was before lockdown. This is not the same year as it had been last year. We ought to be more careful about social distancing. Gatherings can wait but the virus is waiting for us outside. So we people should also be really watchful for our own safey. If we keep ourselves safe the whole society is safe and likewise the whole nation.

If and only if:

The quarantine and isolation centres were properly managed. If those centres were to be sanitised on a daily basis. If common rules for sanitisation were observed strictly.

If disposal of wastes from the infected people  and isolation centres were to be dumped to a proper dumping site. If every basic facilities were provided to patients for their soon recovery. If medical checkup were more efficient and on a regular basis. This mass spreading would have stopped.

 Nepal could have easily overcome Corona virus. But because of lack of strong governance and lack of vision  to apply preventive measures sooner in the initial phases it has now spread to community level.

But it is never late. So it would be better to stay safe and secure by following Corona virus preventive measures when inside or outside our homes.
