INTRODUCTION:
This is the sixth book of the Harry Potter series which demonstrates Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts as a senior. This book is the most interesting as it includes the extraordinary and tremendous powers of both the protagonist and the antagonist.
Voldemort is and growing stronger and more formidable. Dumbledore is triumphant to convince his old friend and retired professor Horace Slughorn to return to his old teaching post at Hogwarts for teaching potions. While Severus Snape is now the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher(new every year). Harry is endowed a potions book by Professor Slughorn, in which Harry finds several notes from its previous owner. The book is marked "Property of the Half-Blood Prince". He is suspecting a lot of bizarre things and actions going inside and outside Hogwarts. He confides this in front of Dumbledore but to no avail. And the crusade against Voldemort rages on.
Concealing one's soul in Horcruxes makes the user virtually immortal. Voldemort created Horcruxes which must be destroyed to destroy Voldemort himself. And Harry and his friends vow to destroy every Horcrux which makes the reader filled with goosebumps.
To anticipate who wins against whom you certainly need to go through the book once.
ANALYSIS:
I cherished the book incredibly well. It is much better than the earlier series, to be honest. It is a mixture of fun, thriller, adventure and entertainment and nonetheless romance between the major characters.
This book is mostly immersed in the past incidents within Hogwarts. It reveals to us who the actual Half-blood Prince is. I found this part so very absorbing and emotional and vigorous you are likely not to forget Half-blood Prince once you read it. I find this part so captivating and intriguing about the preceding circumstances from Hogwarts.
The uncovering of the mystery of the reality from the life of alumni from Hogwarts puts us with the past as well. The flashback reality of hardcore Snape to all admired Harry's parents is bewildering. It's so stunning that there is no rest at any degree and you ought to complete the whole novel in a single sitting.
It includes lots of twists and turns that add up the sweetness in the saga.
This book entails the loss of one of the crucial characters from the beginning. I was entirely miserable when the particular character died. It would be fascinating to read the last series in the absence of the characters.
The climax for this book is legendary in my mind. It's sure to blow your mind up when you notice the plot you are visualising is the complete contrary. That what makes the novel spectacular versions as compared to the previous series.
When you are suspecting a character to be a culprit and all the evidence is against him you acquire a soft spot for him when you know the reality.
The use of pensieve is so quite often in this novel that you never know this is the climax of the plot. It takes you through visions and imaginations of other persons past. This usually assists you to comprehend and untie the knots and the connections between the characters.
CRITICISM:
The introduction of many new important characters ought to make the novel engaging. But once the character is introduced we don't find it for a very long time. For instance, a very important antagonist is introduced at the beginning that confirms something interesting exists. But that leads you to disappointment later. It could have been much better if the supporting antagonist also were as influential as the lead characters. It just doesn't seem to fit the plot precisely.
The Horcruxes are one of the major plots in the novel. However, I didn't quite connect with the particular thing of being the Horcrux. It would have been much reasonable if the suspense for the Horcrux items and their findings could have been a lot more bewitching and intriguing.
Half-blood Prince revolves around the antagonist characters way too much. Though you find the antagonist's past emotional and no doubt you can surely feel pity for them once and again.
What I missed here the trio friendship. All three characters are in their teens and divided. The story was so beautiful to read when the trio was together performing mischief or solving an issue. I bet the trio is together once again in the last series.
I seriously don't find anything else that is to be criticised in this novel as it is perfectly perfect.
MY CLOSING THOUGHTS:
This book is by far a favourites from the last Harry Potter series. I already feel like reading it once again. You are likely to complete the book in not more than a week if you are a passionate reader. I can't wait to read the last book as you are left hanging in the end. I want to know how Harry is going to deal with Voldemort. Now that the major character's dead it would be throbbing to watch Harry's quandary which is still a mystery till the next book. I am already curious to know will Harry be returning to Hogwarts or seek revenge on his ultimate foe. It's suspense till next time. I have to say the last book is way too good to start with all the aspects left at the end of this book.
This book is exclusively worth a read during these harsh times the world is facing.
Happy Reading 💕
